Whether your child has been diagnosed with dyslexia, another processing disorder or is yet undiagnosed, it can be an incredibly frustrating experience for a homeschool parent. You want the best for your child. You’re doing everything the book or program tells you to. Maybe you’ve gone through 2 or 3 (or in our case 5) different reading programs, but have made little to no headway. Or he knows the lesson one day and forgets it the next. Hours of patient, encouraging instruction seem to make very little difference.
That’s exactly the position we were in. Then we discovered the Wilson Reading System. It made an incredible difference in our dyslexic son’s reading ability. We had several people tell us this was nothing we should attempt to tackle in our homeschool. Learning to use the system was definitely a challenge. With perseverance and tremendous effort, though, I taught myself the Wilson system. Then I taught my 19 year old daughter who finished her brother’s Wilson program.
I would LOVE to help you with some of the tips and tricks to using the Wilson Reading System. It usually takes 2 sessions of 1 hour each. When you get the Wilson package in the mail it looks so…BIG.
